 Standard Tools provides an optional kit for selected booths that confirms ETL-certification to NFPA-33. This kit includes the ETL label, an electrical control box (for lights and fan), a door limit switch, an air solenoid and several other labels. The ETL label is a nationally recognized mark that signifies that a qualified third party has evaluated the booth design, materials and performance for compliance to NFPA-33.
ETL began as a testing process at Thomas Edison's laboratory in the 1880's to test the quality of lamp bulbs. This group became the Electrical Testing Laboratory that evaluated quality for electrical generation companies. Today, ETL-Intertek is a global third-party auditor that certifies companies to a range of standards including quality processes, product standards and contractual standards. The ETL label included in our ETL kit proves that our spray booths and mixing rooms have been evaluated to NFPA-33 (2003) Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or Combustible Materials. This standard is the top-level standard for spray booths and mixing rooms and is published and controlled by the National Fire Protection Agency. It includes information about the construction materials, electrical components, fire protection, emergency exits and air ventilation of spray booths and mixing rooms.

Our Customers can know that their booth meets national standards that are specific to their business. Their fire and building inspectors can have that added sense of assurance that the booths are safe and effective according to the NFPA-33 standard.
